I was given 3 recommendations by our health insurance provider. After researching all 3 Mr Stylianides, Nicky, was clearly the most appropriate surgeon. In all my appointments, surgery and after care this was clearly justified. All my care was carefully explained and then carried out by Nicky in a very friendly, approachable and yet professional way. He even called me at home after my discharge to follow up on my progress. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Stylianides to anyone requiring healthcare.

I have been most impressed by Mr Stylianides. He has an excellent reassuring manner. I felt I had a good rapport with him and that led in turn to me having full confidence in what he said and did. He explained everything in a clear and understanding way. He was patient and always had time to listen. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Stylianides and the Spire hospital.

I have nothing but praise for the care I received from Mr N. Stylianides and his anaesthetic colleague Dr. El-Ghani and team. Mr Stylianides carried out a laparoscopic, high anterior resection to remove a proximal sigmoid tumour, diagnosed by him previously during colonoscopy. Dr El Ghana’s reassuring manner and gentle humour pre-operatively settled my pre op anxiety. His anaesthetic team were also impressively assured and efficient. It is testimony to Mr Stylianides’s patience, stamina and skill that, despite finding a complex splenic flexure at the outset of the procedure, which hampered access to the colon, he was able to complete it laparoscopically over several hours. I suspect that others less experienced might have opted to convert to a laparotomy. Mr Stylianides was at all times caring, understanding and careful. Before deciding on the procedure, I was offered the option of a less invasive procedure, on the basis the signs were of a non malignant tumour, but he listened to my concerns, understood that I wanted it removed. Once satisfied that I understood all potential complications he undertook the attempted laparoscopic removal with the consent of the MDT. The decision I made was right for me and he ensured the best outcome. Mr Stylianides was caring, careful, patient and very skilled. I feel fortunate he has been my consultant and surgeon. I must also record my thanks to his secretary, Emma Massoules. Her administrative arrangements made all my appointments flow seamlessly. Her speedy response to all communications was very much appreciated. Thank you Emma.

Mr Stylianides was extremely patient, professional and reassuring when my son had an embarrassing issue. The operation went well , recuperation was good, and results at post op appointment were even better than expected. This has enabled my son to get on with his life after having 4 "juicy" haemorrhoids removed and external skin tags. Mr Stylianides is an expert in this field, extremely experienced and my son felt very in safe hands, for a delicate and complex operation. We would highly recommend him, he has a very pleasant manner but is also very professional.
